Current Role
• Responsible for running the Fund in accordance with current legislation,
Fund rules and best practice
• Ensuring members’ interests are protected
Duties
• Setting the investment strategy of the Fund, with advice from the
Investment Adviser
• Holding at least four board meetings each year
• Individual Trustee Directors also attend one or more sub-committees,
meeting at least four times each year
• Additional meetings must be held as required
Education
• One-to-one briefing on the role and expectations of a Trustee Director,
upon appointment or election
• Formal training in the law relating to trusts and pension schemes
generally, as required of all Trustee Directors
• An understanding of the principles relating to funding and investment
• Our Independent Trustee Director is an expert in the governance and
investing of pension funds

Activity
Paul Spencer, our independent Trustee Director has resigned in the past year and Neil Archer
and Bob Wintsch, both Member elected Directors, reached the end of their terms. We would
like to thank them for all their hard work in the role.
We are pleased to welcome Michael Wrobel, the new Independent Trustee to the Board.
Michael has a wealth of experience in Pension Fund investment. He is currently Group Advisor
for Pension Investments at Rio Tinto plc and a Director of JPMorgan European Smaller
Companies Trust plc. Prior to this, Mr Wrobel held the position of Head of UK Retail at
Gartmore and has also spent time as an investment manager at Fidelity and Morgan Grenfell.
